The RSL have launched a website that you can also contribute towards. Everyone is being asked to identify and contribute information about people, memorials, conflicts, units, places and cemeteries that have a connection to Australia’s involvement in war.
With the best of intentions private organisations and government institutions built memorials but a number of these have become obscured through the passing of time. Similarly, many people know of events and actions of people or units involved in conflict but this oral history is at risk of being lost because there isn’t a natural or easy place for this information to be downloaded to and stored. The RSL Virtual War Memorial changes all that.
This is a unique project. This is a project led by the RSL but which everyone can engage in. I hope you can contribute.
